What running loads

Every stride ends with the calf and Achilles controlling your landing. Add mileage, hills or faster paces and that structure does more work per kilometre than it has adapted to. Knees, hip flexors and the lower back share the rest of the load.

What cycling loads

Long rides hold you in one position for hours. Quads take the driving work, while the lower back, neck and shoulders quietly hold a static posture the whole way. That combination is why riders often feel it worst after getting off the bike.

Fitting recovery into a training week

Training load, sleep and recovery timing are individual. Ask the operator how a supervised wellness session may fit your schedule; this page makes no NUSBE outcome claim for a particular timing window.

Frequently asked questions

Should I come after a long run or on a rest day?

Ask the operator about timing in the context of your training, suitability and comfort. This page does not promise a result for either option.

Will this make me faster?

No, and we would not claim it. It supports comfort and recovery routines. Training, sleep and sensible load progression are what change performance.

I cycle and run. Does that change the session?

It changes which areas we focus on. Cyclists usually want quads, lower back and neck; runners usually want calves, Achilles and knees.
